Albuquerque

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Arrived in Albuquerque 6.45pm.

I had booked the Sheraton because the advert said free airport shuttle and free internet.

Wrong.. no airport shuttle so we took a taxi.

Another friend I had invited along Sibongile VanDamme (Sibo) had missed her flight and was not turning up until11.30pm.

The hotel was a mess, the staff very nice but the hotel was being renovated.

Having been up since 3.00 am with jet lag we were too exhausted to wait up so had an awefull meal in the hotel grill replete with Indian pipes and off to bed early.

Sbo arrived at 12.00pm and checked in, called me on my cellphone and crashed.

Albuquerque.. its life Jim but not as we know it….

Solar panels going down

Sunday, June 1st, 2008

I read with much interest in the FT whilst waiting for our plane in Los Angeles that solar panels are going to drop in price this year. The reason being that for the first time they are being overproduced.

The article went on to say that the price of panels would be expected to get closer to the target of 1.00 dollar per watt. Current prices are about $3.40 a watt and are set to halve within a year.

Great news for us who are planning an Earthship build
